Our prompt this week is Disturbing – Not Disturbed. In other words, describe something disturbing but let your reader feel the feels. Avoid injecting your own words of emotion and write your poem dispassionately. See if letting your reader bring their emotions makes it more powerful for them.
For an example of this (one I quite like), read Emily Dickinson’s “I felt a Funeral, in my Brain,” where she describes having a mental breakdown through vivid imagery but without vivid emotion.
As always, please share your poem in the comments and I will be happy to read it and share my thoughts.

Right, so here’s my response. Not sure if I stuck to the script, but your prompt has inspired the following poem: https://oddsends707138946.wordpress.com/2022/03/18/am-i-home-yet-by-britta-benson/

If you were inspired to write and share, you stuck to the spirit of this site despite any specifics I give. I enjoyed reading this one and left my reactions on your post.

I’m sure we would all love it if you did. The daring ones are usually the most engaging.
