Admiration – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 12/18/2020

  • What does admiration look and feel like?
  • Who seeks admiration and how do they get it?

I look forward to your links and comments in response.
As requested, here is my contribution:

I long to be noticed,
to be caught in the act
of being a hero
even, if only, for just being me.

My accomplishments are vast
when held up against the young
or the downtrodden.
They fade among my peers.

But I am superior
in my comforts and ease,
my refusal to push hard,
leaning only into softness.

I long to be noticed
but do not work at uniqueness.
I ease back into calm
gratitude for solace.

two thumbs up for admiration
