A Toast – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 4/9/2021

Write down something to say with a glass held high in front of a gathering. Make if funny or make it serious, just be sure to make it your own. Rhythm is usually key to holding attention and brevity is always appreciated by parched lips and tired shoulders.

This is a different kind of toast but it came up on my picture search and I couldn’t resist (consider it an alternate muse if drinking isn’t your thing):

Time – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 4/2/2021

Time has a funny way of passing at different speeds, relative to your place in the universe and your state of mind.
Write about how time passes for you, or has passed, or will pass.
See if you can get your poem to read fast or slow based on your context (vary it if that fits).
Challenge yourself to show more than tell, avoid these more obvious words:

  • Clock
  • Seconds
  • Minutes
  • Hours
