Anaphora – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 1/7/2022

This blog has crossed into 2022 with just over 50 followers. I am so grateful for everyone that spends time reading my posts. It is humbling to think of others being interested in what I write, so thank you.

Our prompt this week is Anaphora.

I have been doing an online poetry workshop that covered anaphora, so this prompt is more about form than subject. According to Poets.org, “The term anaphora refers to a poetic technique in which successive phrases or lines begin with the same words, often resembling a litany. The repetition can be as simple as a single word or as long as an entire phrase.”
Please share your anaphora poem in the comments.

Past and Present – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 12/24/2021

Our prompt this week is Past and Present.

Dickens has immortalized Christmas with facing the past, present, and future. Since we’re all bound to go there this holiday, write a timely poem and share it in the comments.

Gatherings – Your Weekly Poetry Prompt 11/26/2021

It looks like the streak of words ending in “ing” is going to continue. Our prompt this week is Gatherings. It is the season of gathering together and everything that means and brings. Now write your poem about gatherings and I look forward to reading what you post or link in the comments.
