Flipping through old photos,
slipping into the past,
reliving joyous moments,
knowing they did not last.
I stand up melancholy
and wander to the couch.
I nestle in with family,
a warm, snuggled slouch.
Even in cozy moments,
it’s hard to feel it all,
drink in the simple pleasures,
the joys, both great and small.
