We All Cry for Love – My Weekly Poem 12/13/2021

Shouting is heard,
plates are thrown;
A cry for love.

Only statements of fact
and a sarcastic groan;
A cry for love.

Refusing to yield
from where one stands;
A cry for love.

An imposing threat
a closed fist lands;
A cry for love.

Sealed away
destroying oneself;
A cry for love.

On display
as if on a shelf;
A cry for love.

Listening to speak
but refusing to hear;
A cry for love.

An open heart,
a listening ear;
An I love you.
