My Frustration – My Weekly Poem 7/19/2021

My frustration
with dad’s pain;
helpless Witness,
his faculties wane.

Senseless struggle
comes to him,
waking up to
outlooks grim.

Speech is stammered,
volume down.
People listening
furrow brows.

Helpless Witness
chooses not
to engage what
can’t be fought.

My frustration
with dad’s pain
is my own with
nothing gained.
