Two at a Time – My Weekly Poem 4/26/2021

Here is my poem for last week’s prompt, Gifts:

Two at a Time

Intoxicating new things,
packaged expectations
sold in sets with clever cases
inspired my father to buy
and give to me as gifts.
I can also be enamored
with drill bits, wrenches, and pliers.
Now, going through his things,
I see he bought many of them
two at a time.
